Winter Haven Hospital , part of the BayCare Health System , is seeking a compassionate and skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) Pool/PRN to join our Acute Therapy Services team. This role involves providing inpatient speech therapy services to patients with communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders in a hospital setting. Winter Haven Hospital is designated as a Get With The Guidelines® - Stroke Gold Plus and accredited by the Commission on Cancer. Specialty units/programs also include cardiovascular ICU. Acute Speech Therapist Pool/PRN Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients’ speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing abilities.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on clinical findings and patient goals.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other rehabilitation professionals to ensure coordinated care.
Educate patients and families on therapy goals, progress, and strategies for continued recovery.
Document patient progress and maintain accurate clinical records in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards.
Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to discharge planning.
Qualifications:
Required:
Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
Florida State License in Speech-Language Pathology
Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
Preferred:
1+ year of clinical experience in an inpatient or acute care setting
Experience with modified barium swallow studies and dysphagia management
FEES experience preferred but not required, training provided
