About
Carries out a treatment plan in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. Maintains clear communication with the attending physician, ED nursing and other members of the healthcare team. Taking vital signs, reporting deviation of normal vital signs Perform point of care testing Perform EKG Perform venipuncture & IV insertion Collect lab specimens Assist nursing staff with ED processes during transport downtime (admission, triage, etc.) Participate as a driver for the USA Southstar ambulance Promote patient safety and family centered care Assist with maintaining a well stock orderly environment on the ambulance Document appropriately in the electronic medical record. Completes all mandatory department, educational, and hospital requirements Adheres to current infection control and safety standards Regular and prompt attendance Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required Related duties as assigned
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent and completion of EMT-Paramedic course Required 1 year paramedic experience. Preferred Licensed as a Paramedic in the state of Alabama Required ACLS - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Required BCLS - Basic Life Support Required DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State Possession of a valid driver's license and maintenance of a driving record sufficient to maintain insurance coverage under the University of South Alabama may be required for some positions. Required Comparable combination of education and experience may substitute for the above requirements.
