About
Disinfect testing room, equipment, and supplies, in accordance with departmental/facility infection control policies. Recognize, document, and report critical tests results to the designated interpreting physician. Document pertinent patient medical history, including current medications and circumstances surrounding reported symptoms. Determine any contraindications to testing or monitoring protocols, based on patient history or physician orders. Customize the recording procedure appropriately, as per referral evaluation, patient history or observed EEG waveforms. Conduct EEG, and other neurodiagnostic testing, appropriate to the patient's age, and according to departmental policies and procedures. Differentiate artifacts from cerebral or peripheral nerve responses, and troubleshoot possible causes, documenting steps taken to alleviate such artifacts. Ensure procedures are appropriately logged, charged and distributed to the interpreting physician. Participate in on-call rotation to provide off shift coverage, including weekends and holidays, as required. QUALIFICATIONS Required High School Diploma/GED Required 1 year healthcare experience Required withing 2 years Registered Electroencephalogram Technologist (R. EEG T) - ABRET Neurodiagnostic Credentialing and Accreditation Required Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) - American Heart Association Preferred Certificate Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Program (CAAHEP) Preferred 1 year Neuro diagnostics (EEG / sleep)
