Stamina - Capable of standing/walking for long periods of time (2-4 hours). Strength - Minimally capable of: Free lifting 50 pounds. Pushing stretchers/beds under loads of 200-500 pounds, with assistance.
Reflexes/Agility - Minimally capable of: Frequent stooping, kneeling, reaching, bending, during shift. Responding to sudden, unexpected movements of patients. Responding quickly and effectively to emergencies; i.e., chemical spills (medications, IV fluids), infectious exposures, patient contact, needles/syringes, waste handling (bodily fluids), medical equipment.
Hearing and Visual Acuity Dexterity
Handwriting skills to facilitate documentation for patient care, handling of equipment, and laboratory specimens. Visual acuity/color perception that permits patient assessment, monitoring
