About
Deliver patient care per provider orders, based on practice guidelines and applicable regulations. Ensure that specialty medications are ordered properly and use resources that make sense for the patient's insurance status. Act as a resource for patients, prescribers and clinic staff who have questions about access to specialty medications Effectively communicate and collaborate with outside contacts such as patient access representatives, sales representatives, and specialty pharmacies. Establish and maintain good relationships with pharmacies and medication representatives to have access to specialty medications and obtain assistance ordering medication as needed. Work with clinic staff and patients to ensure patients are getting scheduled for routine appointments as needed by prescribers. Create appeal letters and manage the appeals process for denials. Ensure requests for prior authorizations are moving forward, getting renewed or being actively appealed. Ensuring all tasks, emails, voicemails/phone calls are addressed in a timely manner. Help keep track of enrollment information such as who is on what specialty medication, Use tools such as covermymeds, secure email platforms, and pharmacy portals as needed. Other duties as assigned.

Able to adjust personal availability according to volume changes and activity surges The ability to adhere to a compliance program and HIPAA standards and policies Able to receive and apply constructive input for performance improvement and growth. Experience with EHR systems -not required but highly desired.
Qualifications/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Successful completion of a state-approved Medical Assistant program. Employer may consider applicants based on extensive experience (unless required by state law). Must be authorized to work in the United States without restriction. We will not sponsor applicants for work visas.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements: Medical office, procedure/exam room and laboratory environment may include exposure to communicable diseases, bloodborne pathogens, biohazards or toxic substances. Daily activities may include standing, walking, sitting, bending and lifting items up to 30 lbs.
