Exempt ICPA: Covered Effective Date: 7/25/2022 Grade: 19 Barrier Crimes: Covered OCC:WC:RBE:EHR: PB:Purpose of Position: Provide acute, chronic, emergency and preventive care to outlying village residents in accordance with NSHC's mission, philosophy, policies and procedures while under the direct supervision of medical doctors in Nome. Uphold the organization's vision, mission, and corporate values. Demonstrate understanding of and compliance with organization's policies, procedures, code of conduct and work rules. Essential Functions:
Assess, plan and provide patient care under the supervision of a physician Examine patients, perform comprehensive physical examinations, and compile patient medical data, including health history and results of physical examinations Ensure proper illness and injury care and disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery Use the appropriate process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation when assessing the patient's condition and needs, setting outcomes, implementing appropriate actions to meet the patient's/family's physical, emotional, spiritual, social, intellectual and safety needs, and evaluating patient progress Ensure patient care is accomplished effectively and efficiently in a cost-effective manner, discharge planning is carried out, and the medical regime for each patient is implemented as prescribed by the physician Participate in facilitating patient and family learning by explaining the patients' disease process and planned interventions to the patient/family Demonstrate ability to care for medical, critically ill, traumatically injured, mental health, emergency, maternal/neonate, and pediatric patient populations according to policy and procedure when medically necessary Perform other duties as assigned Personal Traits: All Norton Sound Health Corporation employees are expected to consistently demonstrate the organization's values: integrity, cultural sensitivity and respect for traditional values, continual learning and improving, compassion, teamwork and pride. Ablility to perform under pressure Minimum RequirementsEducation Degree Program Masters Degree Physician Assistant or Family Nurse Practitioner program Experience General (Non-supervisory) Supervisory Amount: 0 year(s) 0 (years) Type: Must have both general and supervisory experience if indicated. Credentials Licensure, Certification, Etc. Licensed to practice as a Midlevel in the State of Alaska; NCCPA, PALS, Medivac, ACLS and BLS certification/registration; DEA#. In addition, must maintain a current collaborating agreement with Physician or Physicians on NSHC Medical Staff. Physical Requirements:• Use hands and arms to operate office or clinical equipment• Sit less than half the workday• Stand and/or walk more than half the workday• Bend, stretch, twist, crouch and/or reach• View electronic monitors for prolonged periods of time• Lift or carry unaided 25 to 50 pounds• See and hear with normal acuityWorking Conditions:• Work is conducted in a standard office environment and a standard clinical environment to include exposure to latex, biohazard or other harmful substances• Moderate travel is required (between 25% and 50% of the time).• Travel is required via large aircraft• Travel is required via small (less than 16 passenger) aircraft• Travel is required via snow mobiles, All Terrain Vehicles or boatI attest that I do not have any physical, mental or medical impairment or disability that would limit my job performance.
