Other duties may be assigned. Opens, readies, and maintains sterile field for each surgical case. Passes instruments, assists with retractors. Provides relief to other staff as appropriate. Troubleshoots equipment as appropriate. Exhibits a commitment of exemplary customer service. Participates in the communication network with appropriate members of the health care team. Counts sponges, needles, and instruments as required throughout surgical procedure. Displays competency for age specific persons from newborn to geriatrics. Participates in precepting surgical tech students and new employees. Displays competency for the Surgical Technologist role as evidenced in the annual performance appraisal following the FHN PRIDE Standards. Job Requirements Education: Graduate of Surgical Technological Program or related on the job training with six to twelve months related experience. Associate's degree preferred. Required Experience:
