Coordinates daily activities of staff and orientation of new hires
Reviews OR schedule for instrumentation needs and ensures receipt and preparation of necessary vendor trays. Communicates unresolved schedule needs via daily shift report. Ensures staff are complying with department policies and procedures. Performs staff competency reviews upon hire and yearly thereafter. Works in prep and pack daily and other areas to include sterilization, sterile storage and decontamination as needed. Assists with semi-annual and annual inventories as needed. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of surgical instrumentation and med surg supplies. Knowledge of and ability to operate associated sterile processing equipment to include but not limited to washers, cartwasher, sonic, sterilizers, heat sealers. Knowledge of the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation recommended practices. Ability to use time effectively by setting and/or redefining priorities. Ability to function independently or in a group to include providing direction and/or delegating tasks. Minimum Education, Training, and Experience Required:
High school diploma or equivalent. Certification via the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution or Healthcare Sterile Processing Association with three to five years- experience. Must maintain certification as reflected by the certifying board's requirements.

Hourly Range: $24.27 - $33.99
