Position Summary Orlando Health Dr. P. Phillips Hospital is a 285-bed acute care facility serving southwest Orange County for more than 35 years. The hospital offers advanced technology and expertise in numerous areas of specialty, including diagnostic imaging, cardiovascular and stroke care, comprehensive surgical services, and rehabilitation, with minimally invasive options for many procedures utilizing the DaVinci® Robotic Surgical System and Mako SmartRobotics™ robotic-arm-assisted surgery for knee and hip joint replacement. A comprehensive Emergency Department treats both adults and children, including a "fast track" for minor emergencies, and is a designated Primary Stroke Center. Responsibilities Provides quality patient care when performing diagnostic imaging and related procedures to demonstrate anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention while adhering to radiation safety principles. • Exercises professional judgment in performance of services and maintains a demeanor complimentary to quality care. • Delivers appropriate care while recognizing patient conditions and ensuring successful completion of procedures. • Complies with all state and federal regulations applicable to each modality. • Adheres to Orlando Health mission statements and strategic imperatives. • Assesses the patient's physical condition and age specific needs. • Provides instructions that achieve patient cooperation and desired results. • Performs proper patient identification, acquires patient's clinical history, and assures that the information is accurately documented. • Positions patient, equipment, associated devices and manipulates technical factors to achieve high quality imagesfor interpretation. • Assesses diagnostic imagesfor technical quality, proper annotation, and patient identification, ensuring that allrelative anatomy is demonstrated. • Applies principles ofradiation safety to minimize exposure to patients,self, and others. • Comprehends and complies with Quality Control standards and participates in all Quality Control tasks. • Demonstrates proficiency in contrast medication administration with and without use of power injectors. • Performs venipuncture and evaluates IV access for the purpose of contrast administration as prescribed by a licensed practitioner. • Administers medical aid asrequired in cases of adverse reaction to contrast medication and/or other emergencies. • Applies appropriate standard precautions and personal protective equipment to prevent cross-contamination of contagious diseases. • Assistsin supervision ofstudent technologists and training of new technologists. • Utilizes all Corporate Radiology computer systems effectively and accurately. • Ensuresthe safety of all customers. • Maintainsreasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards. • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies, department guidelines, and education requirements Qualifications The CT weekend nights position currently provides consistent coverage for the following shifts. Thursday 1830 to 0700 Friday 1830 to 0700 Saturday 1830 to 0700 Education/Training • Graduate of accredited school of Radiologic Technology; or • Graduate of an approved school of Nuclear Medicine Technology. Licensure/Certification • Maintains current AHA BLS/Healthcare Provider certification. • Valid Certified Radiologic Technologist licensure by the State of Florida. • Additionally, must meet one of the following criteria: o Valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification (R) and valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification (CT); or o Valid Nuclear Medicine Certification Board (NMTCB) in (CT); or o Valid Nuclear Medicine Certification Board (NMTCB) in (CNMT) and valid American Registry of Radiologic Certification (CT). Mandatory minimum of two (2) years' CT experience and experience in one or more of the following areas: • Advanced imaging experience and proficiency, including 3D Lab or IR imaging, or Cardiac imaging. • Site proctor/preceptor for onboarding new hires and cross-training. • Primary responsibility: Dual imaging roles, with current proficiency and routinely performing in secondary modality.
