Igniting Connections Through Communication in the Heart of Ohio - Become Our Speech Language PathologistOverview Imagine a career that allows you to give life to voices and create pathways for personal growth. As a Speech Language Pathologist in the iconic city of Toledo, your expertise will extend beyond addressing speech and swallowing issues. You will be the catalyst for unlocking potential, fostering confidence, and nurturing essential human connections - from the joyous sounds of children discovering language to the inspiring journeys of older adults reclaiming their speech. This role offers a remarkable chance to positively impact individuals of all ages in a dynamic environment that combines outpatient therapy with some inpatient engagement. Whether you find joy in pediatric development, adult neurological rehabilitation, or geriatric cognitive recovery, this opportunity promises a satisfying and adaptable experience. Description
Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients spanning pediatric, adult, and senior demographics using both standardized tests and observational insights. Create individualized treatment plans that cater to immediate needs while establishing long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing goals. Deliver personalized speech therapy focused on communication skills, language acquisition, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing rehabilitation. Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nursing staff, doctors, caregivers, and family members to develop cohesive care approaches. Provide education for patients and families to empower them in supporting progress beyond clinical appointments. Engage in occasional inpatient evaluations and treatments, ensuring seamless continuity of care throughout each patient's healing journey. Maintain precise and prompt documentation that aligns with applicable state, federal, and organizational mandates. Keep abreast of the latest advancements in the field through continuous learning and collaboration with peers. Education
A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) for those who are not yet ASHA-certified. Certifications
A valid state license as a Speech Language Pathologist. Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be acquired within 30 days of hiring. Skills
Expertise in evidence-based therapeutic strategies for varying age groups, paired with a deep understanding of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders. Exceptional ability to communicate effectively with patients, family members, and multidisciplinary care teams. Capacity to adjust therapeutic approaches to accommodate cultural and linguistic diversity among patients. Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills. Familiarity with electronic medical records and proper documentation protocols. Benefits
Competitive remuneration based on experience. Flexible work hours to promote a healthy work-life balance while managing diverse caseloads. Chances to specialize in pediatric therapy, adult neuro rehabilitation, or geriatric services. Paid time off (PTO) alongside holiday pay. Choices for medical, dental, vision, and life insurance. Support for continuing education and professional development. A collaborative, team-centric work environment dedicated to top-tier care and ongoing learning.
A Journey That Transforms Lives - and Your Own In your new role, you won't merely provide therapy - you'll join a community-focused initiative dedicated to revitalizing voices, enhancing communication, and celebrating the beauty found in understanding each other. You will collaborate with fellow clinicians who treat one another as family, thriving in a culture that prioritizes teamwork over rivalry. Each patient's story is unique; we trust you to play a pivotal role in how it unfolds. Why You Will Love Life and Work Here Toledo offers an exciting blend of innovation and the charm of Midwestern hospitality. With a vibrant arts scene, flourishing food culture, and lush parks lining the shores of Lake Erie, this city is ideal for enjoying a balanced life filled with nature and culture. Engage in a diverse array of outdoor activities, savor culinary delights from acclaimed chefs, or explore the bustling local markets. Creativity pulsates throughout the city, manifesting in murals, lively music venues, and festivals that celebrate the rich tapestry of community life. For professionals, it's not just about lifestyle - Bakeries and breweries thrive alongside a robust healthcare industry, all while enjoying no state income tax and a comfortable cost of living, creating an environment where careers flourish and innovation is cultivated. No matter if you are a recent graduate or an experienced professional ready to venture into new territory, you will discover ample opportunities for personal and professional development. Who We Are Seeking We are in search of a skilled Speech Language Pathologist whose motivation stems from a blend of results and compassion. Someone who recognizes the quiet child and dreams of their future expressions, who listens to a stroke survivor's hesitant speech and hears a journey of perseverance. You may be a pediatric expert eager to expand into adult therapy - or a neurologically focused clinician looking to embrace early intervention.
Whatever your specialty, if you are ready to serve with a passionate heart and lead with knowledge, we cannot wait to welcome you aboard. Let's Create Beautiful Dialogues Together If you understand that speech is more than mere sound, and that therapy is about more than just tasks - if building rapport matters to you as much as achieving goals, and if laughter resonates just as deeply as language, then this opportunity could be the next chapter you've been waiting for. Join us in a community that champions communication, connection, and the courage to embark on new beginnings. Apply today to bring your unique voice to our dedicated team - and help others discover theirs.
