As an MRI Technologist, you will perform routine MRI exams and procedures on patients of all ages, health backgrounds and conditions. You will ensure they feel comfortable, safe and properly informed throughout the entire process, helping facilitate a welcoming and supportive experience. In this role, you have access to a unique avenue in which to enhance your skills using the latest technologies and leave a positive lasting impression on patients every day.
This is a regular PRN position, with caregivers working shifts varying between 12:00 a.m. - 12:00 a.m. A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Prepare and validate the patient screening safety form. Educate patients regarding MRI procedures while ensuring patients' comfort and safety during and after the exam. Maintain equipment and report any current or malfunctions with equipment immediately. Collaborate with department leadership to develop and implement methods to achieve established goals and objectives for the department. Maintain a safe, clean, and economical operation. Coordinate and answers questions regarding scheduling, networking, informatics, and patient information. Complete and ensure that all electronic data is sent to its appropriate destination. Inspect equipment to ensure proper orientation and contact service if necessary. Provide copies of imaging studies in a timely manner. Perform routine imaging, emergent, invasive, and all special procedures according to the policy/protocol manual and written orders. Maintain adequate supplies in the work area with items necessary to perform the daily schedule. Orient new personnel and assist in their transition to the work environment as assigned. Aid other associates in the department upon completion of duties or as assigned by a supervisor. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology or graduate of an accredited institution per the primary pathway of the ARRT
Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of MRI Technologists (ARMRIT) or The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists R.T.(R) (ARRT), or R.T.(S)(ARRT), or R.T.(T)(ARRT), in good standing. Or must be a Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists R.T.(N) (ARRT) in good standing or be a Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) through the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (ARDMS and NMTCB are primary pathways)
American Registry of Radiology Technologists (ARRT) Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR) must be obtained within 12 months of hire/transfer
Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross certification
Knowledge of Federal and State regulatories Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Two years experience as an Imaging Technologist in an acute care imaging setting Physical Requirements:
Mental Demands: Ability to work at a fast pace and to prioritize multiple assignments/projects and respond to numerous requests and to work collaboratively with other members of the healthcare team; ability to ensure operational efficiency; ability to problem solve and make decisions; ability to exercise self-control and tolerate stress when dealing with multiple requests and/or conflicting demands from multiple customers. Special Demands: Needs minimal sustained direction in assessing needs, carrying out departmental and professional responsibilities; self-starting and self-motivating; working hours may exceed eight (8) hours per day and is based on what is needed to accomplish work at hand. Requires sitting at a workstation or desk; requires standing; work may include occasional pushing and/or pulling, lifting, and carrying objects weighing up to 100 lbs. Work requires finger dexterity and eye hand coordination to operate a computer keyboard at a moderate skill level. Personal Protective Equipment:
Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
