About the Role This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who can drive accountability and ensure consistent delivery of high-quality software. You’ll work closely with Product, Support, and Executive stakeholders to align priorities, remove roadblocks, and scale team performance. A major initiative for this team is the gradual modernization of legacy systems into Java-based architecture, making this an excellent opportunity to influence long-term technical strategy.
What You’ll Do Lead & Develop Teams
Manage and mentor a team of 15+ software engineers Build trust and credibility with senior/tenured developers Conduct 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development planning
Drive Delivery & Execution
Own project timelines, delivery expectations, and outcomes Partner with teams using tools like Jira and HubSpot to track work and manage workflows Ensure predictable delivery of software projects with high quality
Cross-Functional Coordination
Act as the bridge between Engineering, Support, and Product teams Coordinate resolution of production issues and support-driven tickets Translate business needs into actionable engineering priorities
Project & Program Management
Contribute to SOWs (Statements of Work) and project proposals Manage competing priorities and ensure alignment with business goals Identify risks, remove blockers, and drive accountability across teams
Modernization Leadership
Help define and execute a roadmap to retire legacy code and transition to Java-based systems Partner with technical leaders on architecture, data migration, and system evolution
What You Bring
3+ years in a software development environment 2+ years managing or leading engineering teams Experience managing projects, timelines, and cross-functional initiatives Strong familiarity with development workflows and tools (e.g., Jira) Ability to influence and gain respect from senior engineers Excellent communication and organizational skills
