About
Demonstrate professionalism & leadership.
Choose age-appropriate games and develop lesson plans that promote teamwork, strategy, and critical thinking.
Guide students in working together to achieve common goals within the games.
Strong understanding of various games and gaming platforms (e.g., PC, console, mobile).
A genuine enthusiasm for gaming and a desire to share that passion with students.
Maintain sound supervision and ensure the safety of program participants at all times.
Display or provide an opportunity to exhibit children's work through project-based learning.
Enforce program rules, identify & respond to participant behavior issues, and carry out corrective action when needed by identifying and seeking to resolve conflicts and behavioral problems.
Communicate with parents about participant's experiences and report concerns to Program Director.
Know and enforce ALL emergency procedures and follow all safety guidelines associated with all program areas. This includes but is not limited to being responsible for your children's safety and their whereabouts at all times.
Inform the supervisor of any noteworthy incidents occurring during program time.
Attend staff training, weekly meetings, case conferences, and supervision meetings.
Submit weekly lesson plans and schedules.
Other duties as required and assigned by Program Director, ADED and/or DED.
Supervise youth and participate in all activities by building positive relationships with youth and peers, serving as a role model with respect to demeanor, communication, behavior and the organization's mission, philosophy, and goals.
Work with children on developmental and emotional issues; encourage program participation and social skills development.
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
AA or BA in progress in computer programming, engineering, education, or similar related degrees are highly preferred.
A minimum of two years of work-related skills, knowledge, or experience is required.
Must have experience with coding, both tablet and computer based.
Inspire students to have fun while integrating technology skills.
Must have ability to work collaboratively.
Establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects and communicate those objectives to students.
Must have passion for the mission and demonstrate interest in the field of education and youth development.
Must have a sense of humor, positive demeanor and a passion for youth development.
Must be able to pass background check including a Fingerprint Screen, Sex Offender Registry and be physically able to work with children (via a doctor's signed consent including TB screening).
CPR/First Aid Certification a plus.
Fostering a learning environment that stimulates children's creative growth and development.
Demonstrate professionalism & leadership to be a team member of a group of staff and a group of 15-25 youth in grades K-8.
Working with children with developmental and emotional issues.

Teach and supervise organized games and assist the activity specialist, escort groups to and from activity areas and field trips and carry out other tasks.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
Must be able to follow curriculum.
Must be responsible, reliable and punctual!
Create and able to implement plans for group participation.
Effectively supervise children.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.
Physical Requirements
Frequent bending, kneeling, walking.
Must be able to carry 50lbs or more.
Working Conditions
MTA travel throughout the city and for recreational trips with youth.
Outdoors/Indoors.
Alternate between standing and sitting.
