The Food Operations Supervisor keeps the kitchen running smoothly, leading the team with energy, clarity, and hands-on support. They make sure every meal is prepped, portioned, and put together exactly right, meeting high quality standards while staying on schedule for every flight. They stay on top of staffing, supplies, and timing so nothing falls behind, and they step in early to fix issues before they grow.
Beyond the day-to-day, they keep the team focused, motivated, and working together while maintaining a safe, clean, and organized kitchen. • Lead with Purpose: Guide, motivate, and develop your team to consistently meet and exceed performance goals (team includes: leads and runners, across hot and cold food prep areas).
• Deliver Excellence: Oversee the timely and accurate catering of flights, ensuring every dish meets our high-quality standards.
• Drive Production Excellence: Ensure meals are prepped, portioned, and assembled to gold standard specifications (FIFO, allergen control, HACCP compliance, quality checks with scales and sample plates).
• Innovate and Improve: Drive process enhancements, safety initiatives, and compliance with industry regulations (HACCP, OSHA, USDA, etc.).
• Optimize Operations: Manage schedules, labor productivity, and costs, ensuring efficiency in a fast-paced production environment.
• Inspire Teamwork: Host daily team meetings to foster collaboration and keep everyone aligned with performance and safety goals.
- Proven Leadership Experience: 2+ years as a supervisor in food production, manufacturing, distribution, or meal prep facilities.
- Hands-On Management Style: Comfortable being on the floor, directly engaging with staff, and resolving issues in real time.
- Operational Expertise: Skilled in scheduling, inventory management, labor planning, and production flow.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience in airline catering, meal kit production, or large-scale food operations strongly preferred.
- Regulatory Awareness: Familiarity with HACCP, OSHA, USDA, FDA, and allergen control protocols.
- Union Experience: Prior experience supervising in a unionized environment is a plus.
