Correctly performs patient identification venipuncture/capillary collection technique and specimen labeling. Performs specimen processing functions accurately and efficiently. Correctly performs special phlebotomy procedures. Demonstrates adequate knowledge of the hospital and laboratory computer systems. Ability to read at a high school level. Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing. Ability to effectively implement written and oral instructions. Ability to appropriately encounter individuals (patients, visitors, coworkers, medical staff, and others) in a variety of situations and circumstances. Current Driver's License with no major citations able to be covered under AMC auto insurance. Encouraged to become certified by ASCP or a similar qualifying agency (qualification determined by the Administrative Director) after one year of experience at JDAMH. Education/Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent. Current Driver's License. Successful completion of in-house training.
