The Technology Services department of the Wayne County Airport Authority is seeking a Systems Administrator (Engineer) to support enterprise infrastructure across airport systems. The role involves installing, managing, maintaining, and troubleshooting enterprise environments including Microsoft 365, Azure, VMware, Windows Server, storage systems, backup solutions, and security platforms. The candidate will help ensure system reliability, performance, and security for critical airport operations. Key Responsibilities
Manage and support Windows Server, Microsoft 365, Azure, and Active Directory environments. Administer VMware virtualization platforms (ESXi, vCenter, vSphere). Maintain enterprise storage and backup systems including SAN/NAS and Veeam. Implement system updates, security patches, and performance monitoring. Provide troubleshooting and 24/7 support for infrastructure issues when required. Create technical documentation and SOPs. Support data center operations including rack and stack installations. Collaborate with teams to implement infrastructure improvements and projects. Required Qualifications
4+ years of experience
managing enterprise infrastructure environments. Strong experience with Windows Server 2019/2022, Active Directory, SCCM, Intune, and PowerShell. Experience with Microsoft Azure and Azure AD. Knowledge of VMware virtualization technologies. Experience with enterprise storage, backup systems, and file/print services. Preferred Skills
Experience with VMware vSAN, Pure Storage, Veeam Backup, and Disaster Recovery planning. Familiarity with ServiceNow, SolarWinds, or ManageEngine. Knowledge of cloud platforms, Linux, DevOps, and container technologies. Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Azure, VMware, Dell, or Veeam.
