About
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced
Reservoir Engineer Contractor
to work closely with our
reservoir engineering and analyst teams
to productionize their analytical code and automate data manipulations and quality checks. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in
Python
and experience working in
Spotfire
and
Databricks
environments. This role requires close interaction with engineers to transform existing workflows into scalable, maintainable solutions.
Key Responsibilities: Work with different teams to understand existing analytical workflows and models. Refactor and productionize Python code mainly for maintainability. Performance and scalability are secondary for this work. Develop and deploy automated solutions in
Databricks
and integrate with
Spotfire
dashboards. Implement best practices for version control, testing, and documentation. Ensure data security and compliance with company standards. Required Skills:
Programming:
Advanced Python (data manipulation, automation, and object-oriented programming). Data Platforms:
Databricks (PySpark and SQL data manipulation), Spotfire (data visualization and integration). Data Engineering:
ETL processes, data pipelines, and cloud-based workflows. Version Control:
Git/GitHub. Testing & Deployment:
Unit testing, CI/CD pipelines. Reservoir engineering : Knowledge of reservoir engineering workflows and oil & gas industry data. Communication:
Ability to interpret and refactor code developed by reservoir engineer into robust, production-ready solution Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with Azure cloud environments. Experience with performance tuning and optimization of analytical models. Prior Experience:
5+ years
of professional experience in Python development. 3+ years
working with data platforms such as Databricks and visualization tools like Spotfire. Experience collaborating with engineering or scientific teams to productionize existing code. Proven track record of building scalable, maintainable solutions in a data-driven environment. Contract Details:

On-site in Spring, TX. Duration:
1 year with possible extension.
