Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Mobile Service Technician to join our team. This role involves providing on-site maintenance, repair, and diagnostics for a variety of Class 8 truck systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently in diverse environments. This position offers an opportunity to work with a wide range of equipment, construction equipment, and vehicle systems, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic assessments and repairs on heavy equipment, industrial machinery, and automotive systems using schematics and technical manuals.
- Conduct maintenance tasks such as fluid changes, belt replacements, and system inspections for engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension, HVAC systems, and more.
- Repair or replace components including shocks & struts, brake systems, tires, air brakes, and welding repairs.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other specialized tools to complete repairs efficiently.
- Assist with fabrication tasks as needed for custom repairs or modifications.
- Conduct vehicle maintenance including diesel engine repair, alignment checks, electrical diagnostics, and HVAC servicing.
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and industry regulations.
- Maintain detailed service records and communicate effectively with customers regarding repair status and recommendations.
Skills
- Proven experience with heavy equipment operation including tractor-trailers, or similar machinery.
- Strong mechanical knowledge across automotive repair, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, HVAC systems, diesel engines, and brake repair.
- Ability to read schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting complex issues.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment (welding experience preferred), soldering skills are a plus.
- Experience with automotive diagnostics and electrical troubleshooting.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with customer service orientation.
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physically demanding tasks regularly.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; experience operating various types of industrial vehicles is preferred. Pay: $ $28.00 per hour
