Field Service Technician

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Field Service Technician to join our team, supporting industrial, commercial and residential accounts with maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, upgrading, testing and installation of fire and security systems and products. The ideal candidate will possess strong electrical and technical skills, with relevant experience (>1 year). This role involves traveling to client sites to ensure optimal operation and safety standards are maintained in coordination with NFPA-72 standards. Candidates with a background in fire, security and/or sprinkler systems are highly encouraged to apply.

Duties

• Perform installation, troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance on fire and security systems across various industrial, commercial and residential sites.
• Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, blue prints and wiring diagrams related to programmable systems.
• Operate equipment such as scissor lifts safely to access high or hard-to-reach areas during maintenance tasks.
• Engage in technical sales activities by providing expert advice on equipment upgrades or replacements when necessary.
• Maintain detailed documentation of service activities and communicate effectively with clients regarding system status and recommendations.
• Adhere to safety protocols related to low voltage systems and other hazardous environments.
• Support customer service efforts by ensuring timely response to service calls and providing professional technical support.

Requirements

• Proven experience working with fire, security and/or sprinkler systems with a focus on maintenance or technical service roles.
• Strong electrical knowledge with experience in low voltage applications.
• Ability to read technical manuals, blue prints, schematics, and wiring diagrams accurately.
• Experience operating scissor lifts or similar equipment for elevated work tasks.
• Excellent analysis skills for diagnosing complex electrical issues efficiently.
• Strong customer service orientation with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Valid driver's license with the ability to travel frequently for field service assignments.
• Fluency in English is required; additional language skills are advantageous but not mandatory.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $ $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 65 per week
