ATD Precision Manufacturing (formerly Allied Tool & Die) is looking for an experienced Deburr Technician with an aerospace background to add to our team.

We are unique in our industry in that we have CNC and Sheet Metal Departments on-site that operate both in conjunction with, as well as independently of each other.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Deburr Technician is a critical part of our machining team. The technician in this role will be responsible for the final finishing of all parts, pieces and components produced by our CNC machining and sheet metal areas. Strong attention to detail and the ability to sit and concentrate for long periods of time are required for this position.
Perform deburring processes including blending, polishing and the creation of edge breaks. Background in aerospace deburring. Inspect manufactured components for quality conformance to specifications using bench gauging. Ensure standard procedures are followed in all aspects of work including tool setup and operation, process verification, product inspection.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Grind, file, sand or polish symmetrical or free form surfaces of metal items, utilizing a variety of hand tools, power tools, machines and abrasives
- Examine surfaces to find defects
- Remove defects and provide a smooth uniform finish to the affected or uneven surfaces
- Clean and organize work area
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- 5+ years of professional work experience deburring, grinding, or machining metal items or completion of a technical trade program in manufacturing or machining
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Experience with basic blueprint reading
- Able to grind, file, sand or polish close tolerance dimensions within what the blueprint calls for
- Able to proficiently deburr cross-holes and counterbores in small spaces
- Able to utilize various grinding equipment - angle head grinders, pencil grinders, straight grinders, Foredoms and palm sanders
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Shift hours: 1st shift 6am-3:00pm M-Th and 6am-12pm on Fridays
- Sitting for long periods of time, bending, grasping, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching are generally required to perform the functions of this position
- Willing to work overtime and or weekends as needed (Preference)
