Position Summary Reporting to the Director of IT Support & Infrastructure, the role of IT Infrastructure Manager is responsible for leading the IT Infrastructure team (4‑7 people) which consists of skilled infrastructure professionals who support the growing enterprise. The individual in this role will work hands‑on to ensure our infrastructure/systems are rock‑solid, highly available, and highly secure. They will work on a wide range of technologies from cutting‑edge to legacy platforms, and as such must be flexible and a quick learner. They will also be critical in bringing newly acquired facilities onto our standard technology platforms.
Essential Functions
Hands‑on technical management of IT infrastructure including but not limited to:
Windows servers (physical, virtual, and cloud‑based), AD/GPO, Microsoft 365 suite, Azure and AWS, Endpoint protection, Networking , and Phone systems
Personal hands‑on engineering (~75%) and Team/Process management (~25%)
Work with internal and external resources as required to support IT infrastructure 24x7x365.
Lead the planning and implementation of new IT systems and infrastructure that are secure, standard, and highly available.
Develop and implement systems to automate IT tasks, enhance security, and prevent service interruptions.
Participate in projects to implement or make significant changes to systems or technologies.
Lead the process to hand off support of new technologies/systems to the IT Support team.
Some domestic travel (15‑20%) will be required to other company facilities.
Prepare and maintain documentation for all IT infrastructure and provide training to other IT department members as needed.
Leadership of IT Infrastructure team (4‑6 engineers) including employee development and task/project assignments
Skills
Infrastructure team leadership experience in a multi‑site organization
Background in building and supporting IT infrastructure including servers, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, network drives, phone systems, Wi‑Fi, network, MFA/2FA, SAN/NAS, etc.
Strong problem‑solving skills with keen attention to detail and determination.
Experience managing and leading IT infrastructure projects and/or implementing new systems/technologies.
Well‑rounded and direct hands‑on IT infrastructure experience including
servers, networks, cloud infrastructure , etc.
Thorough understanding of enterprise IT best practices for security, standardization, availability, and support.
A desire to learn and continually improve knowledge of new technologies and cyber‑security landscape.
Comfortable in a
fast‑paced environment , managing multiple projects/items simultaneously.
Qualifications
7+ years of full‑time experience as an Infrastructure Engineer, Systems Admin, Network Admin, or equivalent
2+ years of
experience as a manager
or team lead of an IT Infrastructure team
Experience working in a
multi‑site
organization is required.
Must have
Microsoft 365 suite and cloud experience, preferably Azure .
Bachelor's degree or multiple technical certifications such as MCSA, CCNA, etc.
Flexible hybrid on‑site schedule
Ability/willingness to travel to company facilities across the US for projects.
