What You ll Do: Evaluate patients' functional abilities through informal and formal assessments Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with physician directives Coordinate and document treatment activities, updating plans as needed Educate patients and families about pathology, treatment options, and prognosis Supervise and support occupational therapist assistants, aides, and students Recommend assistive and adaptive equipment; assist with equipment procurement Document patient progress and treatment outcomes in compliance with policies and regulations
What You Need: Valid Occupational Therapist license in Michigan Prior experience in outpatient and acute care preferred Strong assessment and communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team Commitment to patient-centered care and continuous improvement
Preferred: Experience with comprehensive patient education Supervisory experience with therapy assistants and students
About the Assignment:
This position is based at a leading medical facility in Alpena, MI, primarily serving outpatient populations but with the flexibility to float to the acute care department when needed.
