Le titulaire du poste appuie l’équipe de maintenance dans la supervision des opérations électriques et mécaniques. Ce poste d’entrée vise à développer des compétences en gestion tout en contribuant aux activités quotidiennes de maintenance et à la fiabilité des équipements. Cela peut inclure des chariots motorisés, des escalateurs à chariots, des pousse-chariots, des systèmes de récupération de chariots ainsi que des technologies de chariots intelligents. Le technicien sera responsable du diagnostic des problèmes électriques, mécaniques et électroniques afin d’assurer le fonctionnement sécuritaire et efficace des systèmes de chariots dans les environnements de vente au détail.
Responsabilités principales
- Diagnostiquer et réparer les équipements et systèmes électromécaniques de chariots d’épicerie
- Effectuer l’entretien préventif des chariots motorisés, pousse-chariots, escalateurs à chariots et systèmes de récupération
- Dépanner les composants électriques, y compris les moteurs, batteries, câblages, interrupteurs, relais et systèmes de commande
- Réparer les assemblages mécaniques tels que les roues, freins, cadres, systèmes de direction et mécanismes d’entraînement
- Tester et calibrer les équipements afin d’assurer leur bon fonctionnement et leur conformité aux normes de sécurité
- Effectuer des inspections de routine et documenter les activités d’entretien
- Assurer le respect des normes de sécurité au travail et des procédures de l’entreprise
- Communiquer avec la direction des magasins concernant l’état des équipements et les délais de réparation
- Soutenir la planification et l’attribution des tâches quotidiennes de maintenance
- Aider à la mise en œuvre des programmes de maintenance préventive et corrective
- Veiller au respect des procédures de sécurité et des politiques de l’entreprise
- Surveiller la performance des équipements et signaler les problèmes aux superviseurs principaux
- Interpréter des schémas, plans et manuels de base
- Tenir à jour les registres, rapports et documents de maintenance
- Participer au suivi de l’inventaire des pièces de rechange et des outils
- Appuyer la formation et l’intégration des nouveaux techniciens
- Participer à l’intégration et à la formation des nouveaux employés
Qualifications
- Diplôme ou certificat en électromécanique, génie électrique ou domaine connexe
- 1 à 3 ans d’expérience en maintenance ou en milieu industriel
- Connaissances de base des systèmes électriques, moteurs, capteurs et composantes mécaniques
- Connaissance des automates programmables (PLC) (un atout)

The job holder supports the maintenance team in overseeing electrical and mechanical operations. This role focuses on assisting with daily coordination, troubleshooting, and ensuring equipment reliability while developing supervisory skills. This can include motorized carts, cart escalators, cart pushers, cart retrieval machines, and smart-cart technology. The technician will troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and electronic issues to ensure safe and efficient operation of shopping cart systems in retail environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair electromechanical shopping cart equipment and systems
- Perform preventive maintenance on powered shopping carts, cart pushers, cart escalators, and retrieval systems
- Troubleshoot electrical components including motors, batteries, wiring, switches, relays, and control systems
- Repair mechanical assemblies such as wheels, brakes, frames, steering systems, and drive mechanisms
- Test and calibrate equipment to ensure proper functionality and safety compliance
- Conduct routine inspections and document maintenance activities
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety standards and company procedures
- Communicate with store management regarding equipment status and repair timelines
- Support scheduling and assignment of daily maintenance tasks
- Help implement preventive and corrective maintenance programs
- Ensure adherence to safety procedures and company policies
- Monitor equipment performance and report issues to senior supervisors
- Read and interpret basic schematics, blueprints, and manuals
- Maintain maintenance logs, reports, and documentation
- Assist in inventory tracking for spare parts and tools
- Support training and onboarding of new technicians
Qualifications
- Diploma or certificate in Electromechanical Engineering, Electrical Technology, or related field
- 1–3 years of experience in maintenance, manufacturing, or technical support
- Basic knowledge of electrical systems, motors, sensors, and mechanical components
- Familiarity with PLCs and automation systems (asset, not always required)

- Basic troubleshooting and analytical thinking
- Strong attention to detail
- Good communication and teamwork. Ability to communicate in writing and verbally in French and English will be considered a strong asset
