Northern Light Mayo Hospital Department: Medical Surgical Unit Position is located: Mayo Hospital, Dover-Foxcroft ME Work Type: Full Time Hours Per Week: 36 Hour/Week
Work Schedule: 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM Eligible for a Sign on Bonus Summary: Provides direct and in-direct patient care under direction of nursing staff. Performs duties such as feed, bathe, dress, groom, or move patients, or change linens. May transfer or transport patients. Responsibilities:
Communicates and interacts with patients and families, physicians, peers and other health care members to maximize successful customer outcomes and maximize function of the unit. Precepts team members to job function Orients patient to hospital environment and routine. Documents all aspects of patient care in a timely manner. Participates in unit quality improvement initiatives. Communicates appropriate information and patient needs to oncoming staff at change of shift and to RN in a timely manner for follow up. Provides care in accordance with the patient's plan of care. Label and Delivers specimens per policy. Maintains a safe environment complying with Northern Light Health policies and procedures; reports and directly addresses environmental hazards and violations of patient safety policy and/or protocol when involved or observed. May perform other duties upon request. Other Information: Current registration as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the State of Maine. BLS certification is to be obtained prior to caring for patients and is to be kept current. 1 year experience in a healthcare setting preferred. Competencies and Skills Basic Life Support Blood Pressure Measurement Electronic medical record software. Shows that important (non-) verbal information is absorbed and understood and asks further questions to clarify when necessary. Expresses ideas and views clearly to others and has ability to adjust use of language to the audiences' level.
Ability to understand the language used to precisely describe the human body including its components, processes, conditions affecting it, and procedures performed upon it. Credentials Required Certified Nursing Assistant Education Required No Minimum RequirementHigh school diploma or GED is preferred Working Conditions Alternate shift schedules (day, evening, nights, weekends).
