*Key Responsibilities* * Serve as the *primary owner of the network environment*, acting as the go-to resource for all network-related issues and initiatives * Lead the *design, implementation, and optimization* of LAN, WAN, wireless, and VPN infrastructure in a Cisco-based environment * Own and manage *network security architecture*, including firewalls, ACLs, VPNs, and segmentation strategies * Lead the *replacement and modernization of end-of-life firewall systems* * Assess and improve current architecture, including transition from *flat Layer 2 design to segmented networks* * Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues affecting performance and availability across distributed sites * Drive *network monitoring, alerting, and incident response improvements* using tools such as LogicMonitor (or equivalent) * Collaborate with leadership, vendors, and cross-functional teams to deliver network initiatives and ensure high uptime * Maintain and enforce network documentation, standards, and operational procedures * Support hybrid cloud connectivity (Azure preferred) and future cloud networking initiatives * Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff or contractors as needed * Participate in on-call rotation and provide escalation support for critical issues*Required Qualifications* * Experience in network engineering within enterprise environments * hands-on experience with *Cisco routing and switching (LAN/WAN)* * Proven experience owning and managing *firewall platforms* (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco ASA, or similar) * Deep understanding of: * Switching (VLANs, STP, trunking, QoS) * Routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP) * Network security (ACLs, NAT, VPNs) * Experience troubleshooting complex, multi-site network environments * Proven ability to work independently and take ownership of critical systems * Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical stakeholders *Job Type & Location* This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fort Worth, TX. *Pay and Benefits*The pay range for this position is $56.50 - $56.50/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
