Determines individual and class needs. Supervises students in educational settings. Establishes objectives and develops and implements a program of instruction that meets the individual needs and abilities of students. Develops instructional activities that are consistent with local and state courses of study and curriculum guides. Implements activities using a variety of techniques that utilize instructional time to meet objectives. Assesses student abilities as related to desired educational goals, objectives and student outcomes and maintains appropriate evaluation documentation. Communicates to student and parents/guardians (either in writing or verbally) instructional expectations, student progress or lack of progress. Assists in the documentation of student progress by efficiently maintaining and submitting appropriate records and reports. Participates as needed in IEP meetings for IDEA students. Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom and in other areas of the school. Actively participates in and works with other school personnel in selection of books, equipment, and other instructional materials and participates in the planning of effective instructional goals, objectives, methods, and curriculum. Exhibits positive human relations skills. Demonstrates proficiency in written and oral communication. Adheres to school system rules, administrative procedures, local board policy, and state and federal rules and regulations. Engages in personal professional growth and demonstrates professional ethics and leadership. Maintains proper certification by attending college, workshop and professional development courses. Demonstrates a high degree of professionalism and ethics, working cooperatively with the Board, the Superintendent, administrators, certificated and non-certificated personnel, parents, and students.
Attends all faculty meetings, PTA meetings, and other meetings as required by the Superintendent. Performs co-curricular and extra-curricular activities and other school related duties (hall, lunchroom, playground, drop-off and pick-up, bus, etc.) as assigned by the Superintendent. Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
