Down 2 FTEs with a pending maternity leave. Outpatient OBs have been covering, but are reducing their laborist shifts this summer.

This is a teaching facility. OB residents will be present on L&D and can first assist. The laborists also currently help provide collaboration to midwives on L&D.

Required Obstetrics Procedures

  • Low Risk Pregnancy (i.e. History of Twins, Toxemia, Pyelonephritis, etc.)

  • High Risk Pregnancy (i.e. with Toxemia, Diabetes, Class II or Higher Cardiacs, Chronic Lung Problems, Chronic Renal Disease, etc.)

  • FHR Interpretation - NST/CST/FSE

  • OB ultrasounds - Performance of Interpretation

  • OB ultrasounds - Performance of Level I/Screening (Viability)

  • OB ultrasounds - Performance of Level II/Targeted (Anatomic)

Labor and Delivery Required Procedures

  • Routine Delivery - Vaginal

  • Low Forceps

  • Decision-Making for C-Section

  • Complicated Delivery - C-Section, Breech, Multiple Births, Abruptions, etc.

  • VBACs

  • Repair of 3rd & 4th Degree Lacerations

Gynecology Required Procedures

  • Operative/Major (Includes Diagnostic) - Ectopic Pregnancy, Ovary Removal, Cystectomy, Extensive LOAs, Laparoscopic Diagnostic/Minor Only - Tubal Ligation, LOAs, Chromal Tubation

  • Surgical Gynecology - Open

  • Office/Minor Gynecology - IUD, Cystoscopy, Colposcopy, Cryosurgery, LEEP, etc.
