Join a dedicated healthcare team in the heart of the Midwest region, providing compassionate and essential patient care in a medical telemetry setting. As an Advanced Patient Care Assistant, you will work under the guidance of licensed nurses to deliver direct support to patients, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout their care journey. General Summary Under the supervision of an RN, LPN, or shift manager, you will assist with vital patient care tasks, contributing to a safe and supportive environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Adhere to established safety protocols including infection control, safe patient handling, and timely communication of patient condition changes. Perform basic care duties such as monitoring vital signs, glucometer checks, assisting with toileting, feeding, bathing, and mobility activities. Collaborate closely with nursing staff to meet patient needs promptly and enhance their overall experience. Accurately document all care activities to support clinical decision-making and team communication. Effectively communicate relevant patient information to healthcare team members to improve outcomes and quality of care.
Education High school diploma or GED is preferred. Experience At least one year of experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is preferred. Certification and Training If uncertified or with less than one year of experience, candidates must complete a specialized Patient Care Assistant training academy. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within the first 90 days of employment, with training provided. Mental and Physical Requirements This role requires significant mental focus and physical activity, including lifting up to 35 pounds, standing, walking, and various movements such as turning, pushing, pulling, stooping, crouching, twisting, and reaching. Working Conditions Frequent exposure to infectious and communicable diseases through blood and bodily fluids is expected. Occasional encounters with hostile individuals may occur.
