Our client has a history that stretches back to 1883. Initially established as a small blacksmith and steel processing business, it has since evolved into a prominent player in the steel construction industry. Over time, the company has built a strong reputation for designing, manufacturing, delivering, and assembling large, technically demanding steel structures. It handles complex projects across three main sectors: Offshore Wind, Offshore Oil and Gas, and Civil and Industrial Construction.


The industrial site in Arendonk spans around 8 hectares and includes a production hall of 50,000 m². The facility is optimized for efficient internal logistics, making it well-suited for handling large, heavy components, with lifting capabilities of up to 105 tons. The blasting booth is equipped for both manual and robotic blasting. Additionally, the company operates several automated blasting machines and a spray hall measuring 7,200 m².


A key strength of the company is its large in-house engineering department, where skilled engineers manage the design and calculation of components in line with strict quality standards. The team includes highly qualified structural engineers and draftsmen, who collaborate across multiple sites. With extensive experience and knowledge, they ensure a high level of efficiency by incorporating practical execution and considering logistical constraints from the early stages of each project.

Functieomschrijving
  • Advise the Project Manager on project planning, costs, and performance.
  • Collaborate with the project team to establish a validated baseline for scope, time, and costs.
  • Define the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) together with the Project Manager.
  • Identify contractual deliverables with the project team (SCOPE).
  • Develop a project schedule based on the WBS, understanding and coordinating what, where, and when tasks are done (TIME).
  • Load costs into the WBS using the planning tool (COST).
  • Prepare regular progress reports for both internal and external use.
  • Evaluate project performance, including calculating Earned Value, creating scenario models, and conducting risk analysis.
  • Advise the project and contract teams on potential or realized risks and report deviations from the validated baseline (scope/time/budget).
  • Monitor project timelines and budgets, identify risks, and propose mitigation or improvement strategies.
  • Conduct delay assessments in case of project delays.
Functie-eisen
  • Relevant experience in cost control or project planning.
  • Master’s degree preferably in finance, engineering, or construction.
  • Strong interest in the construction and contracting industry.
  • Proficient in Excel and Primavera P6.
  • Familiarity with planning software (e.g., the latest version of Primavera or MS Project) is essential.
  • Strong critical thinking skills.
  • Good logical reasoning abilities.
  • Analytical thinker.
  • Highly detail-oriented.
  • Proficient in administrative tasks.
  • Able to adapt flexibly.
