We are seeking a Technical Sales Engineer to join a growing engineering business, supporting the introduction of new products, technical customer requirements, supplier quality activities, and sales growth initiatives.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with an engineering, manufacturing, quality, or technical background who enjoys problem-solving, working with technical drawings, and
collaborating with customers and suppliers to deliver successful outcomes.
The Role
Working closely with Sales, Quality, Sourcing, Supply Chain, and Operations teams, you will play a key role in ensuring customer requirements are translated into successful product introductions and delivered through the supply chain efficiently and accurately.
You will become a technical point of contact within the business, helping to bridge the gap between customer requirements and supplier capability while supporting business growth and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and support the introduction of new products and components into the business Review technical drawings, specifications, and customer requirements Support product approval activities including contract reviews, feasibility studies, and validation processes Coordinate sample submissions, testing activities, and approval documentation Work closely with suppliers to improve product quality and resolve technical issues Support customer enquiries and provide technical assistance where required Collate and analyse technical and quality data to support decision-making Create and maintain product information within internal systems Support customer visits and supplier meetings to resolve technical and quality concerns Assist with continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency Act as a technical resource for both internal teams and external customers Identify opportunities to support sales growth through technical expertise and product knowledgeEssential Requirements
Previous experience within an engineering, manufacturing, technical sales, quality, product engineering, or applications engineering environment Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications Understanding of engineering materials and manufacturing processes Strong attention to detail and analytical skills Excellent communication skills with the confidence to engage with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel Proactive and organised approach to problem-solving Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneouslyDesirable Experience
Knowledge of quality and product approval processes such as APQP, PPAP, FMEA, or equivalent Understanding of international engineering and quality standards Experience supporting supplier quality, customer quality, or technical product management activities Exposure to product testing, inspection, validation, or approval processes Experience working within engineering, manufacturing, aerospace, automotive, industrial, or other technical environmentsAbout You
You will be a technically minded individual who enjoys solving engineering challenges and building strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and colleagues. Comfortable working across both technical and commercial functions, you will be able to understand customer requirements, interpret technical information, and deliver practical solutions that support business objectives.
