Assistant Maintenance Manager Location: Wexford Town Full Time Permanent, Mon-Fri 8am-4.30pm, OT as required.

Optimize Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Maintenance Manager for a busy, fast-paced industrial processing facility in Wexford.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on maintenance professional with strong leadership skills to join a well-established operation focused on efficiency, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
Requirements Trade-qualified fitter with strong mechanical and electrical knowledge Minimum 2 years experience in a supervisory or team lead position Strong understanding of mechanical systems including pneumatics, hydraulics, pumps, and automation Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical drawings Professionalism and confidentiality at all times Key Responsibilities Deputise for the Maintenance and Process Improvement Manager when required Provide specialist electrical and general maintenance support across: Power distribution Lighting systems Machine electrical systems Steam systems Pneumatics Mechanical fittings Transmissions General plant equipment Promote and support a continuous improvement culture across the maintenance function Manage and coordinate third-party contractors where required, including scheduling, approvals, sign-off, and ensuring machinery is returned to full operational condition Maximise production uptime through preventative maintenance and effective reactive maintenance prioritisation Maintain plant, buildings, and services to high operational standards Work within agreed maintenance budgets xyswxtq in collaboration with management Prepare and present proposals for maintenance-related projects Support spare parts management and storage processes alongside the stores function Organise weekly maintenance rotas and ensure adherence to attendance and operational procedures Maintain accurate administrative and compliance records Collaborate with operations teams to improve efficiency and workflow processes Support cross-functional collaboration with HR, Finance, Sales, and Customer Service teams Assist with HR-related matters concerning the maintenance team
