About Your New Job As a Civil Design Engineer,youwill: Deliver civil engineering designs for a variety of projects, focusing on active travel and urban infrastructure schemes.
Work on all stages of project delivery, from feasibility and preliminary design through to detailed design and construction.
Design roads, junctions, and streetscapes that enhance walking, cycling, and the public realm.
Prepare and review drawings, calculations, and technical deliverables according to relevant Irish standards and guidance (e.g.
DMURS, NTA, TII, TSM).
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including landscape architects and structural engineers, to develop integrated urban solutions.
Guide and mentor technicians to deliver quality outputs.
Participate in meetings with clients, stakeholders, and project teams.
Undertake site visits for surveys, inspections, and provide construction support as needed.
Prepare technical reports, specifications, and contract documentation.
Support project planning and programming to meet deadlines.
Engage with local authorities, utility providers, and other stakeholders as part of the design and approval process.
Contribute to design reviews, focusing on safety, accessibility, sustainability, and buildability.
Support quality assurance processes and help ensure compliance with internal procedures.
Share your knowledge and contribute to continuous improvement within the team.
What Skills You Need Minimum 4+ years experience delivering civil engineering projects, ideally with a background in urban or active travel schemes.
Degree in Civil Engineering (Level 8 or equivalent).
Proven ability to deliver civil projects across all design stages.
Good working knowledge of Irish design standards and guidance.
Proficient in AutoCAD; experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D is an advantage.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to manage workload and thrive in a team environment.
Progress towards or interest in professional accreditation (e.g.
Chartered Engineer) is desirable.
