Cote Korean Steakhouse, located in Flatiron, is the carnivorous vision of proprietor Simon Kim that blends together the dining experience of Korean Barbeque together with the hallmarks of a classic American Steakhouse. We are seeking to hire a dynamic and experienced Bar Manager to oversee and lead our award winning cocktail and spirits program in NYC. A minimum of 5 years experience in a NYC-based beverage managerial role is required. The ideal candidate will work closely with team members to provide exceptional, engaged service to our customers and promote an environment of respect, support, and grace in the dining room.

Qualifications:

  • Works with the Principal Bartender and Head Bartender to develop and drive all aspects of a seasonally rotating cocktail menu, including staff training and menu updates.
  • Proactively maintain a comprehensive and orderly spirits list.
  • Expand or contract offerings in order to effectively drive sales in conversation with the Head of Beverage Operations.
  • Develop, implement, and drive beverage programs and promotions to build repeat guest business, grow word of mouth, and drive sales while effectively controlling costs
  • Own ordering of all products and other supplies to maintain the COTE bar programs, including glassware and bar consumables.
  • Oversee inventory and EOM COGS reporting; handle all financial needs for the bar programs on a daily and weekly basis including GL management
  • Cultivate positive, professional relations with all vendors
  • Set pricing and menu offerings as overseen by the Head of Beverage Operations and the General Manager
  • Opens or closes COTE; completes opening or closing checklist, as applicable
  • Manages hourly employees in their daily responsibilities at Cote, providing clear, effective direction
  • Prepares staff schedules for Cote, and/or as directed by the General Manager
  • Previous NYC hospitality experience preferred (5+ years).
  • Full time commitment to hospitality industry.
  • Must be able to lift heavy boxes (at least 50 lbs).
  • Ability to walk, stand, and bend for extended periods of time over multiple floors.
  • Occasional kneeling, bending, crouching, and climbing is required.
  • Available to work weekends, nights, and holidays as the business dictates.
  • Must be of legal age according to NY State regulations to serve alcohol (18 years).
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • New York City food handler's certification.
  • Salary based on experience.
