Pay Range: $50,000 - $80,000

Position Overview:
We are seeking a well-rounded individual who is accustomed to working in a fast-paced environment to join the dispatch team. The Dispatcher is responsible for planning and executing the flow of inbound and outbound freight in the GTA while staying abreast of daily priorities. The position covers various aspects of city dispatch including communicating with carriers, drivers, customer service, vendors, dock operations and yard control.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute all inbound and outbound freight transport in a timely manner as efficiently as possible.
  • Ensure a timely response is provided to customer service, stores and vendor inquiries via phone or email.
  • Ensure that the load documents are correct prior to departure and with the driver.
  • Updates and maintains all systems used by dispatch on daily basis.
  • Prioritize, expedite and approved rush merchandise.
  • Track and trace shift activity and on-time pickups and deliveries.
  • Execute policy and process regarding productivity, safety and service level.
  • Accountable for the accuracy of daily volume and productivity recap.
  • Managing a fleet of 60 -80 hourly drivers.
  • Managing driver performance based on KPIs set by Transportation Operations.
  • Achieving On-time performance and Cost targets.
