Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced IT Program Manager I to lead complex technology programs across geographically distributed engineering, product, and business teams. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in program delivery, governance, risk management, engineering operations, product operations, stakeholder engagement, and AI-driven process transformation. This role will work closely with Vice Presidents, Directors, Development Managers, Product Managers, and Engineering teams to ensure successful delivery of strategic technology initiatives while driving operational excellence and continuous improvement across the PMO function. Responsibilities
Partner with senior leadership (VPs, Directors, Development Managers) to develop and execute program delivery plan Identify critical path activities, dependencies, capacity constraints, and delivery risk Establish and facilitate RAID (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies) management processes Support governance frameworks for change management, release planning, and dependency coordination Define, monitor, and report program KPIs and delivery metrics Drive continuous process improvement through enhanced methodologies, tools, and governance practice Own enterprise-level risk and dependency management processes Maintain and govern program risk registers and dependency log Conduct recurring risk reviews with senior stakeholders Identify technical, operational, delivery, resource, and vendor-related risks proactively Develop mitigation strategies and contingency plans Facilitate dependency resolution sessions and remove blockers before they impact project timeline Executive Stakeholder Management
Partner with VP and Director-level leadership across business and technology organization Prepare executive presentations, portfolio health reports, and governance updates Drive alignment across multiple teams and business units Ensure transparent communication and collaboration across globally distributed teams Support strategic decision-making through data-driven reporting and program insight AI Integration & Governance
Evaluate and implement AI tools to improve delivery efficiency and PMO effectiveness Lead AI pilot programs, proof-of-concept initiatives, and adoption strategies Establish governance, compliance, and best practices for AI usage within project and program management Introduce agentic workflows and automation opportunities across PMO operations Technical Excellence & Engineering Operations
Partner with engineering leadership to improve technical quality and operational maturity Monitor engineering health metrics including code coverage Vulnerability remediation Disaster Recovery (DR) readiness System reliability Drive engineering operational processes including Change Management and Release Management On-call operations Operational Readiness Review Product Operations Leadership
Partner closely with Product Managers and Project Managers Maintain roadmap governance and prioritization processes Ensure alignment between product strategy and execution capacity Implement Product Operations best practices, including Intake Management, Feature Lifecycle Governance, Release Planning, and improving product artifacts (Epics, User Stories, Acceptance Criteria) Roadmaps, Release Documentation, and ensuring roadmap items are well-defined, sequenced, measurable, and aligned to business objectives PMO Excellence & Continuous Improvement
Contribute to PMO standards, templates, methodologies, and playbooks Drive adoption of best practices across the project and program management team Participate in PMO retrospectives and organizational learning initiatives Recommend new tools, frameworks, and delivery models that improve execution effectiveness Mentor and coach Project Managers and delivery professionals Improve planning quality, facilitation skills, risk management practices, and product-oriented thinking Lead workshops and strategic planning sessions Facilitate Design Thinking sessions Run AI Use-Case Discovery Workshops Host Hackathons and cross-functional collaboration events Promote a culture of innovation and continuous improvement Required Skills & Qualifications
Program & Delivery Management
8+ years of Program/Project Management experience Experience managing large-scale enterprise technology programs Strong expertise in Agile, Scrum, Kanban, Waterfall, and Hybrid delivery methodologies Deep understanding of RAID management and governance framework Stakeholder Management
Proven experience working directly with Vice Presidents, Directors, Senior Engineering Leaders Strong executive communication and presentation skills Product Operations
Strong roadmap management and backlog governance expertise Experience working with Product Managers and engineering teams Engineering & Technical Operations
SDLC familiarity CI/CD Release Management Site Reliability concepts Cloud technologies AI & Automation
Experience evaluating and implementing AI solutions in delivery organizations Familiarity with AI governance, automation platforms, and workflow optimization Tools
Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow, Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Power BI, Tableau Preferred Experience & Qualifications
PMP or PgMP Certifications PMI-ACP or SAFe Certification ITIL Foundation or ITIL Expert Experience within Financial Services, Banking, FinTech, or Enterprise Technology environments
