Apartments.com - Technical Team Lead, Software Engineering (Payments/C#/.NET/SQL) We are looking for an accomplished Technical Team Lead to manage 3–5 engineers within the payments team, overseeing a $6B annual payment processing operation that includes ACH, card, and digital wallet transactions.
Responsibilities
Lead a small engineering team and mentor staff in the payments domain.
Own the technical roadmap and shape feature requests into clear technical plans.
Deliver high‑quality, rapid code into the production environment.
Ensure operational reliability and compliance with financial regulations, including 1099‑K handling.
Advocate for best practices, automate testing, and improve delivery processes.
Stay current with emerging technologies, AI and architectural advances and apply them to the product.
Work with Engineering Leaders and Product Managers to scope changes and align team efforts.
Represent the team at senior‑management and client meetings.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university.
10+ years of software development experience.
Strong web and database development skills (C#, ASP.NET, SQL/Postgres).
Experience building Server‑Side Rendered and Single‑Page Web Applications.
Agile Scrum experience and knowledge of automated testing processes.
Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to explain concepts to technical and non‑technical audiences.
Strong project management, team‑building, and negotiation skills.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
1+ year team‑lead experience managing direct reports.
Experience with JavaScript frameworks such as Angular or React.
Familiarity with AWS (EC2, ECS, S3, RDS, SQS, Aurora, Lambda).
Experience with Redis.
Knowledge of commercial real estate is a bonus.
Location and Work Arrangement In Irvine, CA. In‑office Monday to Thursday, remote work on Friday.
