Senior Analytics Engineer Location: San Francisco, CA (Hybrid Role)
The Role As our Senior Analytics Engineer, you’ll be the second hire on the data team, working alongside the Head of Data as the primary data partner to Product, Finance, Marketing, and Sales. You’ll design pipelines and semantic models in BigQuery and Omni, build dashboards, run analyses that shape pricing, prioritization, and growth, and help build a data function from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with Product, Finance, Marketing, and Sales to scope what matters, define metrics, and translate business questions into analyses.
Partner with engineering on product instrumentation, decide what events to capture and their structure.
Own the analysis end‑to‑end, from data modeling through dashboards, readouts, and ongoing monitoring.
Build and maintain the semantic layer in Omni so humans and AI agents can query reliably; govern metric definitions and resolve discrepancies.
Design and maintain data pipelines in BigQuery for analytics and reporting, including ETL for new data sources.
Inform architectural decisions on transformation, orchestration, and tooling as the stack matures.
Partner with the Head of Data on prioritization, help shape the team’s roadmap, and identify improvement opportunities.
Qualifications
5–7 years of experience in analytics or analytics engineering with examples of dashboards and analyses that drove business decisions.
Fluent SQL and hands‑on experience with BigQuery or comparable cloud warehouse.
Comfortable in codebase, reason about system interactions, and contribute to architectural conversations; hands‑on experience in Python or TypeScript.
Semantic modeling experience in Omni, LookML, Cube, MetricFlow, or similar; Omni experience a strong plus.
Solid grounding in database architecture and ETL; experience designing pipelines.
Experience analyzing product feature launches: defining success metrics, reviewing instrumentation, and interpreting results.
Strong stakeholder skills: gather requirements, push back as needed, communicate clearly in writing and conversation.
Integrated AI meaningfully into your work; can discuss how you use it, limits, and judgment.
Comfortable switching between analyst and engineer modes across domains.
Enjoys planning, executing, and celebrating as a team.
Experience working remotely and/or in a startup environment.

Compensation The salary range for this role is $180,000 – $208,000 annually, eligible for equity. Background check required.
