Senior Manager, Billing Data and Analytics - Sunscription We are seeking a Senior Manager, Billing Data and Analytics to lead the data assets, reporting processes, and quality controls that support Sunscription's billing and community solar service delivery. The successful candidate will manage a small team while staying hands-on in the data. This person should be comfortable developing reusable reporting assets, validating data mapping, monitoring data quality, documenting logic, and working with technology teams to improve the systems and data flows behind billing. The ideal candidate is a strong problem solver who enjoys breaking down complex data issues into clear next steps. They will partner frequently with our finance and operations teams, utilities, vendors, and leadership to ensure billing data is complete, consistent, explainable, and ready to support customer savings and recurring reporting. What You'll Do Develop, prioritize, and maintain reusable billing data assets, dashboards, analyses, controls, and reporting processes for Sunscription's community solar business. Act as the business owner and hands-on implementer for billing data offerings within the role's domain, from requirements through delivery and ongoing improvement. Serve as the subject matter expert for billing data, savings-related reporting, data definitions, data readiness, and recurring reporting logic. Partner with finance and operations teams to support monthly, annual, and stakeholder reporting with data that is complete, consistent, and explainable. Create and maintain clear documentation for data definitions, report logic, audit steps, exception handling, and recurring quality checks. Write clear requirements or tickets for technology and data teams, validate data mapping, conduct QA, and monitor data quality after changes are delivered. Work with data architects, engineers, analysts, and system owners to improve data flows, reporting structures, validation rules, integrations, and platform reliability. Identify missing, late, inconsistent, or questionable data and coordinate resolution with utilities, vendors, internal teams, and leadership. Recommend billing-readiness decisions to the leadership team when data quality affects customer billing, customer savings, or stakeholder reporting. Manage one to two direct reports responsible for billing analytics, reporting support, audit readiness, data documentation, or data-quality follow-through. What Will Help You Succeed Strong ownership mentality and accountability for data quality, reporting reliability, and service-delivery outcomes. Advanced SQL, BI/reporting, Excel, and structured-data skills, with the ability to build and improve durable data assets. Ability to independently gather requirements, prioritize work, deliver reporting solutions, maintain data assets, and continuously improve data processes. Experience creating documentation that helps stakeholders understand and trust data definitions, report logic, controls, and exceptions. Ability to validate data mapping, conduct QA, monitor quality, and identify root causes when data does not tie out. Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex data issues to internal stakeholders, leadership, utilities, and vendors. Ability to partner with technical teams while staying grounded in business outcomes and customer impact. Strong problem-solving skills and a proven record of improving processes, products, reports, or services across an organization. Eagerness to understand how Sunscription operates and apply that knowledge to better business decisions. Customer-centered judgment focused on making sure Sunscription members receive the correct savings. Requirements 8+ years of experience in data analytics, billing operations, finance operations, business intelligence, data operations, utility data, or a related data-intensive field. 3+ years of experience managing analysts, reporting owners, data operations contributors, or similar team members. Advanced SQL and BI tool experience, including building, maintaining, and improving reusable dashboards, reports, analyses, and data assets. Experience serving business owners while collaborating with data engineering, technology, systems, or analytics teams. Experience writing requirements or tickets, validating data mapping, conducting QA, and implementing data-quality monitoring. Experience creating and maintaining documentation for data definitions, recurring reports, audit processes, and data-quality controls. Experience using data to identify root causes, present solutions, and influence decisions across multiple stakeholder groups. Experience with utility billing, community solar, renewable energy, customer billing, payments, or regulated reporting is strongly preferred. Bachelor's degree in a quantitative, business, finance, technology, or related field preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered.
