This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable.
As part of a hardworking team of engineers, you will be in charge of engineering, designing, and coding electronic tools and macros that will support the avionics ecosystem for various spaceflight systems. You will share in the team's impact on all aspects of the avionics overall strategy. As an Avionics Design Engineer (Automation & Software) you will be responsible for the design of electronic tools for visualization, automation and verification of the avionics designs. Also, you will support the implementation of electronic tools and processes related to manufacturing automation, enhance reality and virtual reality. You will coordinate the integration and connectivity between the avionics ecosystem and other company tools and systems. You will support the design, manufacturing and installation teams with automation and design improvement initiatives in order to improve quality, increase rate and reduce cost We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Qualifications: B.S. degree or higher in Mechanical or an appropriate engineering field 5+ years of experience designing Wire Harnesses for the Aerospace industry Experience with CAD and Windchill and Routed System Designer (RSD) 3+ years of experience coding in Python 3+ years of experience working creating complex tools and automation logic (definition of business rules) Experience working with Web base interfaces. Experience working with generative AI tools Experience working with complex and large databases Familiar with existing applicable harness standards: IPC/WHMA-A-620A, NASA-STD-8739.4 Strong electrical/mechanical design and integration skills using 3-D CAD software Desired: Experience with CREO Schematics and/or Piping. Experience with other high-end CAD routing software such as Unigraphics NX Electrical and Mechanical Routing Knowledge of avionics fabrication and installation processes. Experience with launch vehicle or spacecraft electrical/mechanical systems. Compensation Range for: WA applicants is $107,136.00 - $149,990.40

Required for Certain Job Profiles: Drivers who operate Commercial Motor Vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW), Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) or combination of power unit and trailer that meets or exceeds 10,001 lbs. and/or transports placardable amounts of hazardous materials by ground in any vehicle on a public road while in commerce, may be subject to additional Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations including: Driver Qualification Files, Medical Certification (obtained before onboarding), Road Test, Hours of Service, Drug and Alcohol Testing (CDL drivers only), vehicle inspection requirements, CDL requirements (if applicable) and hazardous materials transportation/shipping training.
Required for certain Job Profiles: Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical
