About

Work Location: Bellwood
Position requires the ability to work overtime and may involve varying start and end times, including weekends, to meet business needs.
This is a DAY SHIFT position with hours from 4:00 am to 4:30 pm. The schedule is two days on, two days off, with every other weekend (Saturday, Sunday, and Monday) off.
Responsibilities
Ensure that quality standards and programs are being met.
Conduct analytical lab checks and work collaboratively with production to solve QA issues.
Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
Serve as a guide and leader for quality and food safety standards.
Perform plant GMP audits and correct findings on the floor.
Determine root cause analysis for quality deviations and report on holds.
Perform quality checks for QA programs in the facility.
Ensure compliance with BRC standards through internal auditing.
Perform analytical lab calibrations and verifications.
Conduct analytical testing following laboratory standardized methods.
Work safely and adhere to FFC safety methods.
Conduct Critical Control Point verifications and confirm compliance with HARPC requirements.
Inspect packaging during startup and throughout the shift.
Conduct inspections during changeover using ATP swabs.
Participate in glass and brittle plastic inspections.
Review in‑process paperwork to ensure compliance with GDP requirements.
Take initiative and suggest improvements.
Understand and ensure full compliance with safety, quality, and other relevant requirements.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Recent college graduates with a degree in Food Science, Chemistry, or a related field are highly preferred but not required.
Must have a high school diploma or GED.
Knowledge of food processing and food safety.
Experience in the food or pharmaceutical industry, with 1 to 3 years minimum in QA/QC.
Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.
Skills
Knowledge of operating basic laboratory equipment.
Strong knowledge of GMPs and SOPs.
Excellent communication skills, including coaching and peer coaching.
Collaborative and teamwork‑oriented.
Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
Reliability and punctuality.
