Department Overview
Nomura is seeking a Windows Systems Administrator to join the Windows infrastructure sub‑group of our Global Digital Workspace team and contribute to infrastructure support for the Nomura Group affiliate company Instinet Incorporated.
The Digital Workspace team provides engineering, maintenance and support for Instinet’s Windows, Active Directory, and VMware systems, globally. This role is primarily focused on the team’s responsibilities involving server administration, Active Directory vulnerability patching, VMware infrastructure maintenance, and other infrastructure services while other team members are assigned to focus on first‑level support for the desktop environment.
Essential Role Duties and Responsibilities:
Active Directory vulnerability management
Review vulnerabilities and available remedies
Assess interoperability in a heterogeneous environment including legacy systems
Manage deployment risk through log analysis, reporting and available controls
Deploy, verify and support security patch and other vulnerability remediation tasks
VMware infrastructure support
Build, upgrade and patch VMware ESXi systems
Monitor and manage ESXi server capacity
Develop and maintain relevant documentation and runbooks
Collaborate across Digital Workspace and technology infrastructure teams to support work required to relocate Instinet infrastructure to new data centre locations.

This position is focused on developing and supporting our global Windows Server infrastructure with a focus in Active Directory Management, VMware, Support Escalation and After Hours Change Implementation. In this role you will be responsible for developing, implementing and supporting technology solutions delivered to Instinet’s corporate users and production Windows environment in a global teamwork environment.
Minimum Technical Experience:
Active Directory Administration
Performing administrative tasks in a multi‑domain environment
User & Computer Administration
Group Policy management & troubleshooting
Experience managing AD Sites & Services
Working knowledge and understanding of DNS & DHCP
VMware
Experience building, upgrading and managing ESXi v7.0, 8.0 and vCenter
Experience managing VMware services and features including SRM, DRS and Update Manager
Performance monitoring and alerting
General Windows Server Systems Administration
Deployment, management & support for Windows Server 2012, 2019+ systems.
Windows Server patching
Technical support for issues escalated from internal support groups and development teams
Experience supporting a production environment, with change control procedures and after hours implementation
Experience using a service‑based ticketing system (e.g. Jira Service Desk, ServiceNow, etc.)
Windows File System Management (e.g. Access Control Lists, DFS, File Share Management)
Preferred Technical Experience:
Citrix XenDesktop / Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops
Citrix Director
VDA installation, configuration and troubleshooting
Knowledge of Citrix NetScaler ADC and ADM
Office 365
Exchange Online administration
Mailbox creation & user management
SMTP header analysis and related messaging technologies
Experience administering a mobile messaging platform (e.g. Mobile Iron, Workspace ONE, etc.)
Troubleshooting mobile connectivity errors
Understanding of mobile messaging architecture
Job Knowledge, Qualifications & Education:
Previous experience in Systems Administration managing production Active Directory and VMware VCenter and ESX infrastructure, including support, deployment, maintenance, upgrades, monitoring and troubleshooting.
Experience supporting a production environment, including the use of change control procedures.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills, including the ability to listen actively, participate in group discussions and take accurate and thorough notes.
Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality and thoroughness.
Able to learn through new experiences and willing to ask for guidance or assistance when needed.
Technical certifications in Microsoft technologies, IT security and networking a plus.
