About
Our Houston, Texas facility is looking for a dedicated Receiving Clerk to join our team. As a Receiving Clerk, you will manage the initial stage of our inbound **logistics** process, ensuring all incoming shipments are accurately received, inspected, and processed. This includes unloading delivery vehicles, verifying the contents against purchase orders and packing slips, identifying any discrepancies or damages, and properly documenting all incoming merchandise. Accuracy and efficiency are key to this role, as it directly impacts our inventory records and operational workflow. The position involves regular **lifting** of packages and requires a strong adherence to all **safety** procedures, including the correct use of **PPE**. Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming shipments from various carriers.
- Verify shipment contents against purchase orders, bills of lading, and packing slips.
- Inspect all goods for damage, defects, or discrepancies and document findings.
- Accurately enter received inventory data into the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Stage received goods for internal movement or put-away.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.
- Follow all company **safety** policies and procedures, ensuring proper **PPE** is worn at all times.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers, carriers, and internal departments regarding receiving issues.
- Perform **lifting** of items weighing up to 50 lbs throughout the shift.
- Support overall **logistics** and inventory management goals.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in a warehouse receiving role or similar capacity is preferred.
- Ability to perform physical duties, including standing, walking, bending, and **lifting** repeatedly.
- Strong organizational skills and a keen eye for detail.
- Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with inventory systems.
- Understanding of warehouse **logistics** and receiving procedures.
- Commitment to workplace **safety** and the correct use of **PPE**.
