About

Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled, compassionate, and dedicated Registered Dental Hygienist
(RDH) to join our patient-focused general dentistry practice in Vineland and Millville offices. The
ideal candidate will be committed to providing exceptional preventive care, educating patients
on optimal oral hygiene, and contributing to a positive and professional office environment. This
is a full-time/part-time position (specify one or both, and typical work hours/days if known).
Key Responsibilities:
● Patient Care and Assessment:
○ Perform a thorough oral prophylaxis, including the removal of calculus (tartar),
stains, and plaque from all surfaces of the teeth.
○ Conduct comprehensive oral health assessments, including charting of existing
restorations and periodontal charting to evaluate for gum disease.
○ Assess soft and hard tissues of the head, neck, and oral cavity for any
abnormalities.
● Preventive and Therapeutic Procedures:
○ Apply fluoride and pit and fissure sealants to prevent decay.
○ Perform root planing for patients with periodontal disease.
○ Administer local anesthesia if holding a valid New Jersey permit to do so.
○ Place and remove periodontal dressings and other surgical dressings.
○ Remove sutures as needed.
● Radiography and Documentation:
○ Take and process dental radiographs (X-rays).
○ Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including documentation of all
treatments, findings, and patient education.
● Patient Education and Counseling:
○ Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, including brushing, flossing,
and the use of other oral care aids.
○ Provide dietary counseling and advice to promote overall dental health.
● Infection Control:
○ Ensure strict adherence to all infection control and sterilization protocols to
maintain a safe and clean environment for both patients and staff.
○ Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment.
● Collaboration:
○ Collaborate closely with the dentist and other dental staff to ensure coordinated
and comprehensive patient care.
○ Communicate patient findings and treatment needs effectively to the dentist.
Qualifications and Requirements:
● Licensure: Must hold a current and valid Registered Dental Hygienist (RDA) License
in New Jersey.
● Education: Graduate of a dental hygiene program accredited by the Commission on
Dental Accreditation (CODA).
● Certification: Current certification in Basic or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (CPR)
is required.
● Skills:
○ Proficiency with digital radiography, electronic health records (EHR) software
(e.g., Dentrix, Open Dental, Eaglesoft), and standard dental instruments..
○ Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail.
○ Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build rapport with patients of all
ages.
○ Ability to work independently and as part of a cohesive team.
Preferred
● Experience administering local anesthesia (if legally permitted and certified in NJ).
● Experience with advanced periodontal therapies or laser dentistry.
● Bilingual (e.g., Spanish/English) skills are a plus.
