Position Overview
Our client, a Japanese company is looking for an Office Assistant who can provide reliable support for basic office operations in a Japanese-speaking environment. This position requires a candidate with some prior office or workplace experience, familiarity with basic corporate etiquette, and the ability to follow instructions accurately. While the tasks are straightforward, attention to detail and responsibility are essential.
Key Responsibilities
1. Office Environment (Daily)
Maintain cleanliness and organization of meeting rooms, pantry, and common office areas Assist with light cleaning and simple appliance upkeep Water and care for office plants as needed Mail pickup and distribution
2. Manage Supplies
Monitor and manage inventory of office supplies and pantry items Restock items as needed and place orders following company procedures Ensure essential supplies are available at all times
3. Computer (Basic PC Skills Required)
Perform simple data entry tasks using spreadsheets or internal systems Input monthly billing data into company software (routine work; training provided) Maintain and organize digital and physical filing systems
4. Reception & Communication
Welcome visitors and provide assistance in a professional and friendly manner Communicate clearly with internal teams and external vendors Follow instructions carefully and complete assigned tasks responsibly
Qualifications
Japanese language skills are highly preferred but not mandatory Basic English skills sufficient for simple reading and writing Some prior office or customer service experience preferred (at least 1 year) Understanding of basic corporate behavior and professional communication Basic computer skills: Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) Detail-oriented and dependable
