Orthopaedic Clinical Physician Assistant The Orthopaedic Clinical Physician Assistant (PA) works closely with the orthopedic surgeon to provide comprehensive patient care in the outpatient setting. Responsibilities include evaluating patients, obtaining medical histories, performing physical examinations, ordering and coordinating diagnostic studies such as X-rays, MRIs, and CT scans, and developing treatment plans under physician supervision. The PA manages follow-up visits, provides patient education, assists with preoperative and postoperative care, and coordinates surgical clearances and other necessary preparations. By streamlining patient evaluations and ensuring all required information is available prior to surgical consultations, the PA improves patient flow, enhances efficiency, and supports high-quality orthopedic care. Education
Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant (PA) program required. Graduate of an ARC-PA accredited Physician Assistant educational program.
Licensure & Certification
Current Physician Assistant license in the state of NJ required. Current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (PA-C) required. Current DEA registration (or ability to obtain) preferred or required, depending on prescribing responsibilities. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
