Full-Time Charge Nurse (Long-Term Care) Boulder City Hospital is seeking a dedicated and experienced Full-Time Charge Nurse to support our Long-Term Care (LTC) department. This leadership role assists the Director of Long-Term Care in providing high-quality resident-centered care while ensuring compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations. Position Summary The Charge Nurse of Long-Term Care (LTC) is responsible for assisting the Director of LTC in the provision of optimal nursing care to residents in accordance with current Medicare and Medicaid regulations. The Charge Nurse will provide clinical oversight, support staff development, assist with special projects, and ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and compassionate care. Shift - Overnights, Mon-Friday work week. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assist the Director of LTC with the daily operations of the Long-Term Care department. Provide leadership and clinical guidance to nursing staff. Ensure residents receive comprehensive, individualized nursing care. Monitor and maintain compliance with all federal, state, Medicare, Medicaid, and facility regulations. Coordinate care with physicians, therapists, social services, dietary staff, and other interdisciplinary team members. Assist with resident assessments, care planning, and documentation. Function effectively as a direct care provider when staffing needs require. Assume responsibilities of the MDS Coordinator role as needed. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and special projects assigned by the Director of LTC. Promote a positive work environment focused on teamwork, accountability, and resident satisfaction. Support staff education, mentoring, and performance improvement efforts. Respond effectively during emergencies and stressful situations.
Qualifications
Current Nevada Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing. Previous Long-Term Care or Skilled Nursing experience preferred. Supervisory or charge nurse experience preferred. Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and Long-Term Care regulations. Strong assessment, communication, organizational, and leadership skills. Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams. Proficient in clinical documentation and electronic medical records.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull as necessary. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the shift. Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Must be able to work effectively under pressure and during stressful situations.
