Job Title: CBIC Monitor (Mon-Fri afternoon/evening schedule) Salary Grade: 13 Division/Department: Court Administration/Probation Services Salary: $41,600.00 Reports To: CBIC Manager Date Posted: 3/13/26 FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Last Revised: 9/24/25 Benefits of Employment Insurance: Comprehensive Health, Dental, Vision, Life and an Employee Assistance Program. Supplemental Life may be purchased at group rates. Paid Time Off: Twelve (12) holidays, vacation time (after 6 months) of three (3) weeks per year for the first eight (8) years of service, and sick time. Retirement: Ohio Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS) with 14% annual employer contribution and Deferred Compensation Plans. Job Summary Community Based Intervention Center Monitor are essential staff within the CBIC program. The Monitor transports youth to and/or from the program and ensures safety while on the van. The Monitor plans and prepares efficient routes, monitors van maintenance, and communicates with fleet services. The Monitor organizes and delivers meals to the youth. During CBIC programming, The Monitor assists with group needs and monitors the youth during unstructured time. Essential Duties and Responsibilities To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential duty listed below. Ensures the welfare, security, and care of youth who are involved in the Community Based Intervention Center by utilizing cognitive behavior therapy techniques, behavior management techniques, and established policies and procedures. Supervises the youth while transporting them to and from the CBIC Program. Monitors and supervises the behavior and activities of youth in the CBIC Program. Interacts with youth on a constant basis through participation in activities, group activities, and modeling behavior. Instructs and directs youth regarding rules and behavior within the program and while driving the van to and from the CBIC program. Inspects and reports any contraband or security problems regarding the youth to the Manager and/or chain of command. Reports problems or incidents with youth to CBIC Facilitators and/or Manager.
Completes travel logs and prepares written reports as required. Provides input to the team relative to youths' needs or concerns during daily supervision team meetings. Assists with providing meals and administrative duties as needed. Performs other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities Has no direct supervisory responsibility for staff members. Equipment Operated Standard office equipment and office technology such as copy machines, personal computers and telephones. Confidential Data All court-related information regarding hearings, etc. that the employee may come in contact with by working in the facility. Working Conditions Works in a general office and court setting with moderate noise levels. Has frequent contact with youth clients, who may be uncooperative. This position is subject to significant time in a motor vehicle, with varying weather conditions. Usual Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit, to speak clearly, and to hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
Knowledge, Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Must have ability to appropriately manage youths behavior while they are in his/her care; capacity to work in close environment with co-workers and youth; ability to identify problems in behavioral terminology; demonstrated communication skills; ability to handle stressful situations, working knowledge of vehicle operations and map reading; ability to work with troubled youth; must be familiar with security and safety measures pertaining to the transportation of youth. Good oral and written skills. Requires successful completion of driving test. Education and/or Experience High School Diploma required. AND One year of work experience driving a multi-passenger vehicle (such as a school bus or public transportation bus) or working with adolescents. Licensure or Certification Requirements Must possess a valid driver's license and continuously maintain automobile insurance in compliance with state law, with a driving record acceptable to the Court's current policies. Any position which requires operating a motor vehicle as an essential duty of responsibility of the position will be subject to a driving record check through the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles. Applicants are required to provide their driver license number upon request. Applicants who possess a driver's license from a state other an Ohio, or those applicants who have possessed an out-of-state driver's license at any time during the five years prior to review, must provide a certified copy of his or her out-of-state driving history for at least the five years prior to the review of the applicant's driving qualifications.
