What You'll Be Doing: Designing, developing, troubleshooting, and debugging software programs for PCIe IP evaluation and test chip platforms. Developing scalable software tools, APIs, and architectures focused on evaluation software for Synopsys PCIe evaluation boards. Collaborating closely with hardware lab teams, firmware engineers, and silicon design engineers to define requirements and ensure seamless hardware/software integration. Implementing test suites, diagnostic tools, and automation frameworks to validate PCIe protocol compliance, performance, and reliability. Leading the development of user interfaces and APIs to enable efficient evaluation and debugging of PCIe IP features. Analyzing hardware-software interactions, troubleshooting complex issues, and driving root-cause analysis across board, chip, IP, protocol, and software layers. Mentoring and guiding team members, championing best practices in software quality and hardware validation. Staying up to date on PCIe standards, SERDES technologies, and industry trends to influence software architecture and feature development. The Impact You Will Have: Accelerate the evaluation and adoption of Synopsys's latest PCIe IP and test chips by delivering robust, user-friendly software tools. Enable seamless hardware bring-up and protocol validation, empowering both customers and internal teams to assess performance and compliance efficiently. Drive innovation in hardware/software integration, contributing directly to the reliability and competitiveness of Synopsys' PCIe solutions. Facilitate high-speed signal validation, analysis, and debugging, shortening time-to-market for leading-edge semiconductor products. Mentor and elevate the technical capabilities of your peers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and excellence. Influence the future direction of Synopsys evaluation software by integrating the latest industry standards and best practices. What You'll Need: Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years of related experience, or an advanced degree and a minimum of 3 years of related experience. Comprehensive expertise in PCIe protocol, SERDES, and hands-on experience with evaluation boards, silicon validation, or test chips. Advanced proficiency in Python, C++, or similar programming languages for embedded, driver, or system-level development. Strong understanding of version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD concepts. Experience using and interpreting results from lab instruments such as BERTs and oscilloscopes for high-speed signal validation and analysis. Familiarity with test automation, software revision control, continuous integration principles, protocol analyzers, and lab measurement tools. Proven ability to debug and resolve complex hardware/software integration issues. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and technical leadership skills. Preferred: Experience with evaluation software, hardware bring-up, or test automation frameworks for high-speed IP; knowledge of signal integrity, compliance testing, and PCIe ecosystem tools; customer-facing support experience; MATLAB knowledge ;experience using Python; understanding of eye diagrams, ADC, and DSP functions.
