Shaped is a seed stage start-up backed by top investors (e.g. Y-Combinator, Susa Ventures, Tribe Capital etc) and executives (e.g. Google, Amazon, Uber, Dropbox etc). Our team comes from Meta, Google, Apple and Uber. We're remote but have an office in Brooklyn, New York.
Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Account Executive to join Shaped. In this role, you will be responsible for driving sales and revenue growth by acquiring new customers. As the primary point of contact, you will understand customers' unique needs and tailor our ML infrastructure solutions to meet their requirements. Your technical expertise and passion for ML will be instrumental in demonstrating the value of our APIs to developers and decision-makers.
As a founding account executive, you'll also play a pivotal role in helping to build scalable sales processes and contribute to shaping our product roadmaps and culture.

Qualifications- Proven sales track record: Minimum 3 years of experience in B2B sales, preferably in selling developer-focused ML or AI solutions, APIs, or related technical products
- Technical proficiency: Strong understanding of machine learning concepts and the ability to articulate the value of ML infrastructure to technical audiences
- Customer-centric approach: Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers, understand their pain points, and offer tailored solutions to meet their needs
- Communication skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Results-oriented: A self-driven individual with a track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth
- Entrepreneurial spirit: Thrives in a fast-paced start-up environment and is willing to take initiative, be adaptable, and contribute to the overall success of the company
- Passion for ML: A genuine passion for machine learning and the transformative impact it can have on applications and user experiences
Responsibilities
- Become an expert on the Shaped ranking platform and how it can be used to build personalization experiences for a diverse range of companies
- Sales and business development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities by prospecting, qualifying leads, and conducting product demonstrations to developers and technical stakeholders
- Customer relationship management: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with customers, ensuring customer satisfaction, retention, and upselling opportunities
- Technical consultation: Provide technical guidance and best practices to developers integrating our ML APIs into their websites and applications, addressing questions and resolving challenges they may encounter
- Market insights: Stay informed about industry trends, competitor offerings, and customer feedback to inform product development and improve our offerings
- Collaborative teamwork: Collaborate with a small team, including engineering, product, and marketing, to align customer needs with our business objectives and contribute to the overall success of the company
