Working across demanding and highly regulated sectors, they design and manufacture hydraulic and fluid power solutions to a range of highly regulated and technically demanding industries. Known for delivering high-quality engineered products and bespoke solutions to customers across the UK and internationally, they seek to reinforce their team with a skilled Design Engineer. As a Design Engineer, you will play a key role in the design and development of their bespoke products, taking the projects from initial concept through to manufacture, testing, installation and final delivery. You will be responsible for interpreting customer requirements, developing robust solutions, and working closely with suppliers and internal teams to ensure successful project outcomes. Key Responsibilities: Design and develop bespoke hydraulic and fluid power solutions. Interpret customer specifications and translate requirements into detailed engineering designs. Produce 3D models, technical drawings, schematics and Bill of Materials using CAD software. Ensure designs comply with applicable standards, safety requirements, and customer expectations. Carry out engineering calculations to validate system performance, functionality and integrity. Support projects through their full life cycle, including installation and commissioning. Liaise with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve technical issues and challenges. Contribute to continuous improvement activities, design standards, and product development initiatives. Skills and Experience: Proven experience in designing hydraulic systems and fluid power equipment. Strong mechanical engineering background within a manufacturing/engineering environment. Proficiency in 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, AutoCAD or equivalent. Ability to produce detailed engineering drawings and technical documentation. Experience taking designs from customer specification through to manufacturing release. Knowledge of manufacturing processes for Design for Manufacture principles Experience working within highly regulated/high-integrity sectors such as defence, nuclear, oil & gas, or renewable energy isn't essential, but is desirable. Working toward a Chartered status/professional registration would also be ideal.
